étoile at Domaine Chandon

We had a marvelous dinner at étoile at Domaine Chandon winery.  We had the Chef's Tasting Menu:

- started with the most unusual appetizer, Hamachi Sashimi with Braised Pork Belly and Young coconut, so there's a little bit of a crunch between the two layers.  Absolutely marvelous!

- Chilled Asparagus Soup

- Striped Bass
with huckleberries that have a really wonderful rich quality without being too floral or perfumy

- Black Angus Beef with truffled popcorn - really good!

- Carmody Reserve, garnished with a bite of honeycomb

- Concord Grape Sorbet

- Banana Chocolate Cake

And each course was complemented by their wines.  Absolutely marvelous!!
