SAN JOSE, Calif. (KCBS) -- A week before Thanksgiving, Bay Area airports joined those around the country in setting up security lines especially designed for families with small children, and they’re getting rave reviews.

With strollers, kids, diaper bags, and possibly more than three ounces of baby formula, it can be a struggle for families to get through airport security, and a hassle for those who find themselves behind them in line. But now, family friendly lanes are speeding up the process.
”I think it’s good. I get to go through a little quicker, so I love it. Especially when I’m waiting for him to cry any second, so it works for me,” said one mom, waiting to board at Mineta San Jose.
The lanes can also be used by passengers with special needs who require a little extra time, or are traveling with necessary medical items, such as insulin or liquid prescriptions.
