OAKLAND, Calif. (KCBS/AP) - Software programmer Hans Reiser wrapped up a third day of testimony in his Oakland murder trial on Thursday.
Reiser, 44, is charged with killing Nina Reiser, who hasn't been seen since dropping the couple's two children off at Reiser's Oakland home over the 2006 Labor Day weekend.
Prosecutors say DNA and other evidence points to Reiser. But the defense says there's no evidence that Nina Reiser is dead and it's possible she's living in her native Russia.
Much of the testimony yesterday morning centered on the couple's contentious custody dispute after Nina Reiser filed for divorce in 2004 following five years of marriage.
Reiser contradicted prosecutors' portrayal of Nina Reiser as a devoted mother. He called her manipulative and deceptive and said she used flattery to win people over.
