OAKLAND, Calif. (KCBS/BCN) -- An employee of an Oakland nail salon was injured during a takeover-style robbery Sunday night when the suspects allegedly pistol-whipped the employee, according to the Police Department.
Officers responded to reports of a robbery at the nail salon in the 6600 block of Telegraph Avenue around 5 p.m., police said.
Two suspects reportedly had walked into the salon, held up the employees and then took an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police.
The employee who was pistol-whipped sustained a laceration to the head and was transported to a local hospital, police said.
No customers were in the salon at the time of the robbery, police said.
The suspects were still at large.
