SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- San Francisco police are investigating a double homicide in the city's Sunset district and another murder in the Excelsior neighborhood early this morning.
In the Excelsior, one man was shot to death and another was critically injured near Athens Street and Excelsior Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. today.
Police say they have no one detained in that incident and they’re not releasing the name of the murder victim before they’ve notified his relatives.
About half an hour later, shortly after 2:30 a.m., two men were shot to death near 19th Avenue and Irving Street. The San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office has identified 23-year-old Derek Butch of San Francisco and 31-year-old Jason De La Cruz of Daly City as the victims of that shooting.
No arrests have been made in either of these incidents, but police are interviewing numerous witnesses at the scene and say they received conflicting information about the description of the suspects in that crime.
