CHICAGO 10 (R)

Get ready for a wild, creative ride through the true drama around the Democratic National Convention of 1968. Protesters clashed with police, a courtroom became theatre..and the whole world watched as riots and the politics of protest polarized the country. Director Brett Morgan also gave us The Kid Stays in the Picture, a terrific "dramatized documentary" about producer Robert Evans. Chicago 10 uses animation, archival footage, court documents..and some of the best voices to make the true life cast come alive. Hank Azaria, Roy Schneider, Liev Schreiber, Jeffrey Wright, Mark Ruffalo and Nick Nolte play everyone from Jerry Rubin to Judge Hoffman to Boobe Seale. This is entertaining and fascinating filmmaking, reminding us of an important event, and hopefully making young people curious to learn more about it.
