Clinton Comes to Obama's Defense

Hillary Clinton is standing up for her rival Barack Obama as comments from President Bush stir up controversy amid the pool of his potential successors.

Obama is accusing Bush of a "false political attack," after the president warned against appeasing terrorists during a speech in Israel.

The president said: "Some seem to believe that we should negotiate with the terrorists and radicals," a move he calls a "foolish delusion." The White House denies Bush was targeting Obama.

Clinton says the comments were "offensive and outrageous," and have "no place in any presidential address."

Obama's campaign took the comments as a criticism of his position that as president he would be willing to meet with Iran's leaders and those of other regimes the U.S. considers rogue.
