Club Connected To Fisherman’s Wharf Shooting Closed

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)  -- The San Francisco nightclub near Fisherman's Wharf, where a 19-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday morning has been shut down by the city.

A San Francisco police spokesman tells KCBS it wasn't a department decision, but confirmed that the Suede Nightclub and Lounge on Bay Street is shuttered.

Four men were wounded in the shootout that killed Lawon Hall of Richmond. Police say shots were fired outside the club around 1:40 a.m. after some kind of altercation inside.

An armed security guard who serves as a member of the San Francisco Special Patrol fired the shot that killed Hall, police said.

The Special Patrol is an official city organization chartered separately from the Police Department but operating under its supervision.

The suspect, who has not been named by police, remains in custody at San Francisco General Hospital. Authorities are now investigating whether there is a second suspect.
