MARTINEZ, Calif. (KCBS) -- Seventy-two hours notice of aerial sprays to fight the light brown apple moth are not sufficient notice to prevent exposure to the pesticide, some Contra Costa residents fear.
The schedule for spraying this summer amounts to long-term exposure, they say. Despite assurances from County Agriculture Commissioner Ed Meyer that the pesticide should not be considered a threat to the public, residents in El Cerrito and El Sobrante believe the public needs more information about the long lasting health effects of the chemical.
