SAN JOSE, Calif. (KCBS) -- The summer travel season is not looking good for the travel industry.
According to a new survey by Access America, summer vacations will likely be down 7 percent this summer compared with 2007. The survey of 1,000 adults found that only 33 percent of respondents plan to take one this year.
Most people who took a vacation last year, 57 percent of respondents, say they won’t travel because of the uncertain economy and high fuel prices.
AAA predicted last week that auto travel will be down this Memorial Day weekend, when compared with last year, because of prices at the pumps.
