Big Sur, Calif. (KCBS`) -- Volunteers at an emergency animal shelter in Monterey County are asking the public for help as the number of evacuated animals continues to grow.
A spokesperson for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) says they have all ready taken in 225 animals, all of which require food and water, putting a squeeze on resources.
The emergency shelter for the animals has been set up next to the Red Cross shelter at Carmel Middle School. For more information on making a donation, please visit the SPCA’s website.
