2006 Heritage Zinfandel, Sonoma County
Rich, concentrated color. Lots of ripe berries with a distinct spiciness lead to concentrated ripe berry flavors with plenty of tannic backbone. Acidity is also perfectly balanced. Here's a really fine value for such a complex wine. Delightful $17.00.
2005 Old Vine Zinfandel, Dry Creek Valley
Dark, dark crimson color / ripe berries and plums with a distinct vanilla note from the oak barrels - lead to a concentrated fullness on the palate. Vines are more than 80 years old. The concentration of flavors is impressive and at 14.5% alcohol, you have a fine drinkable wine with rich meat and bbq dishes. But also one that will age for a number of years. Again a great value $28.00.
