Rated PG
At a time of depressing and/or violent movies, along comes a charming tale for the family. Amy Adams is luminous as a princess out of a fairy-tale who lands in modern-day Manhattan. It's a great concept that could have been wittier, especially with this good cast and imaginative visuals. There are some fun musical numbers, especially when our Princess Giselle has New York animals and insects help her clean house. A romance without a sappy, dependent Princess is always welcome..she has spunk and personality. And parents won't be completely bored or offended, another reason to be grateful.
