FREMONT, Calif. (KCBS) -- Investigators are looking into what sparked a fire at an East Bay high school early Sunday morning.
The fire started just before 3:30 at Fremont's Irvington High School on Blacow Road. Fremont Fire Battalion Chief Tom Mulvihill says five engines were deployed to contain the flames.
"The damages were confined to two classrooms, one was a special education classroom. The fire was totally contained to those two classrooms, which were both fully engulfed," said Mulvihill.

Firefighters remained on the scene for about three hours to watch for flare-ups.
Mulvihill says the timing of the fire does raise some questions about what sparked the flames.
"Currently it's under investigation. Really, at that time in the morning it's always suspicious, but at this time we don't have anything more than investigation," said Mulivihill.
The plan is for Irvington High to open for its regular schedule Monday morning. Students who attend classes in the two burned-out rooms will be moved elsewhere on campus.
No injuries were reported. Damage to the classrooms, and their contents, is estimated at more than $100,000.
