BERKELEY, Calif. (KCBS) -- Investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that damaged two structures in Tilden Regional Park Monday.
The fire broke out about 2 p.m. at Gillespie Youth Campground in an area off of Grizzly Peak Boulevard.
Meanwhile, conditions are so dry at in the area that Cal Fire officials are warning residents to clear out dry brush to create a defensible space around their homes. Recent fuel samplings show moisture readings are about eight weeks ahead of schedule as far as fire season is concern, said Cal Fire Battalion Chief Rob Van Wormer.
