Firefighter Injured Fighting SF Blaze

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) - A 2-alarm fire broke out in a large home near San Francisco's Presidio late Thursday morning.

Mop-up was underway by 11:00 a.m., a sign of quick work by firefighters who kept the house fire from spreading. The fire was reported at 3232 Pacific, a large 3-story house with wood shingles.

It was unclear, early in the investigation, what the cause of the fire may have been. The fire likely smoldered for a while before flames burst into the attic.

The owner was not home at the time.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries, a cut to the hand, during the firefighting effort.
