SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- Dozens of children from San Francisco’s Tenderloin District received new backpacks and school supplies Wednesday.
The St. Anthony’s Foundation giveaway was intended to help families struggling to make ends meet. Often, they can not even afford to buy what their children need for school, said volunteers at St. Anthony’s.
Each backpack comes equipped with paper, pens, highlighters, dictionaries and other items worth $50.
