SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- It may feel like you’re taking your life in your hands when using some Bay Area freeway entrances. One of the common complaints centers around a stop sign that greets drivers coming from Treasure Island onto the Bay Bridge.
”The onramp from Treasure Island towards San Francisco on westbound 80 has always been short,” said Caltrans spokeswoman Lauren Wonder, who says that stop hasn’t been updated since 1936.
Other problem spots include the High Street onramp to 880 in Oakland, and coming east on Alemany onto the 280 / 101 interchange.
Caltrans has a list of updates already approved by Proposition 1B a few years ago.
