Gas Prices On the Decline

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)  -- AAA's latest Fuel Gauge Report shows that gas prices in San Francisco have actually dropped.

"We absolutely are looking better than we did a month ago. For instance, in San Francisco prices are down 13 cents from what they were at a month ago," said AAA's Michael Geezer.

Gas prices nationwide now stand at just a fraction over $4.00 per gallon. However, even though they've dropped, prices are still high in San Francisco, from $4.59 a gallon just days ago to $4.55.

"We're going to think it's low now cause it's been so high," said one San Francisco driver. "But it'll never go before $4.00 again."

AAA expects prices to stay put in the near future, and in fact they may even drop because of good supplies, lower prices for crude, and slowing demand with the end of the summer driving season approaching.
