1965 Beaulieu Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon
The classic rich, ripe grape aromas of BV lead to a wine that has lost its power. Somwhat tired, but fine with a steak and with its memories.
1965 Chateau Latour
Hints of toasted allspice suggest a former glory, but a wine to drink now. It is clearly at its peak or a little past it. Soft and supple at its finish.
1965 Krug Vintage Select Cabernet Sauvignon
Fresh minty - spicy aroma with overtone of toast and leather. Leading to a simply delicious wine. No rush to drink this one. It's still going. Balance, balance, balance. Only 12% alcohol. Enough fruit to be still called a fruity wine, with enough tannin for structure.
