Narsai's Fresh Fava Hoummus

2 lbs                     fresh favas, shelled, peeled, and cooked
2 small cloves    garlic
3 TBS                   chopped onion
juice of 2 lemons (about 4 TBS)
1 tsp                     salt
1/4 - 1/2 tsp        chili pepper flakes
2-4 TBS                water
4 TBS                    tahini (roasted sesame puree)
4 TBS                    olive oil

Puree in blender.  If necessary, thin out with water, only a spoonful at a time.  Traditionally hoummus is served with pita bread or flat bread, but it also makes a marvelous dip for raw vegetables, or a sauce for grilled fish.
