Newsom, 40, has served as mayor of San Francisco since 2004. He graduated from Santa Clara University and is a founder of 15 businesses, including restaurants, hotels and wineries, according to spokeswoman Giselle Barry.

Siebel, 34, graduated from Stanford University and Stanford Business School. She has a recurring role on the NBC television series "Life" and is the spokesperson for Women's Independent Cinema, which distributes independent films created by women filmmakers, Barry said.

The wedding was officiated by a friend of the couple, Carol Simone; designed by another friend of the couple, Stanlee Gatti; and coordinated by Siebel's godsister, Jocelyn Arelt, according to Barry.

The couple plans to honeymoon in Africa, Barry said.
