OAKLAND, Calif. (KCBS) -- An Oakland homeless shelter is in danger of falling victim to the foreclosure crisis. The Aerial Mission in East Oakland does everything it can to serve women and children who've lost their homes, but that could be changing.
Dr. Nadine Scott says the facility, and a sister shelter, were in the process of moving to a larger building because of increasing numbers of people being forced into the streets due to foreclosure.
"We were trying to go to the next level, but the foreclosure crisis hit," said Scott.
She admits having difficulty refinancing her personal home to keep the shelter doors open.
