SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- An underground explosion and fire shook part of the San Francisco financial district Tuesday afternoon, but the fire department said there were no injuries.
The blast took place underground at Drumm and California streets just after 4 p.m. Witnesses described seeing several manhole covers flew 10 feet into the air because of the blast.
It is uncertain what caused the explosion, and the investigation continues.
The California cable car line, the 1-California and the 41-Union were affected by the activity in the area.
