SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- The San Francisco Board of Supervisors is considering further restrictions on smoking in public areas of the city.
People lined up in the board chambers to voice their concerns over the proposed restrictions.
"Smoking is not a constitutionally protected right," said one woman to the board. "There is no right to smoke in the Constitution. There are protections of civil liberties, but smoking is not one of them."
Some of the new restrictions would mean no more smoking in city-owned vehicles, rental cars, or even taxi cabs.
The number one cause of preventable death in the U.S. is still tobacco.
