SAN FRANCISO (KCBS) -- Pine Market, Liquors, Groceries and Deli in downtown San Francisco will likely be changing their name, now that its liquor license has been revoked following a Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control investigation.
"They went undercover and sold property to the owner that the owner belived was stolen. We call it reported stolen property," said John Carr with the ABC.
He adds that an employee, and the storeowner, purchased about $1,000 worth of cigarettes and alcohol.
Carr says that out of the 80,000 ABC licenses in the state only 54 were revoked last year.
The owner still operates a liquor store and deli at Bush and Van Ness, so manager Ziad Hamadala says the stock will be transferred to the second store, and they will stay in business, but perhaps under a new name.
The store came to the attention of the ABC after receiving a citizen complaint that there may be an issue with stolen property.
