SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- The San Francisco Convention and Visitor's Bureau has added a new feature to its website that helps guide same-sex visitors through the process of getting married.
“San Francisco is so proud to welcome gay and lesbian couples to the first city in the United States to perform same-sex marriages,” said Angela Jackson, spokeswoman for the bureau, who believes they are fulfilling a need.
The Visitor’s Bureau began putting together the gay wedding guide as soon as the State Supreme Court declared the ban against same-sex marriage unconstitutional in May.
The “Gay Travel” section of Onlyinsanfrancisco.com features all the information interested couples may be looking for: where to find city hall, how to get to a license and setup an appointment for a wedding, and frequently asked questions.
