SAN JOSE (KCBS) -- Eggo" src="http://vortal.intertechmedia.com/image/DbLiteGraphic/200911/5582650.jpg?1258770627" />Eggo waffles, a staple of American breakfast tables for 50 years, originated here. And now the San Jose Eggo factory is the only one cranking them out.
There are production problems at the two other Kellogg's Eggo factories, and a nationwide supply problem as a result.
KCBS' Matt Bigler reports
In 1949, Frank Dorsa came up with the recipe he branded Eggo and eventually sold to Kelloggg’s. And the company says until mid-2010, the factory at 475 Eggo Way in San Jose will probably be the only place the waffles are made.
Local grocers started noticing a slowdown in waffle shipments about two weeks ago, and they say Eggo fans are a little exasperated they have to learn to “leggo.”
