Sushi: the raw facts
|
UC Berkeley Wellness Letter
September 2007
Sashimi is sliced raw fish served on its own. Eating raw animal foods of any kind is risky, safer choices include tuna, cooked shrimp, eel, and imitation crab. Sushi, however, can be a good source of healthful omega 3 fats, protein, and a range of nutrients, and it’s generally low in calories. Sushi ingredients and condiments can also be high in sodium.
