SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- An 18-year-old man died Saturday from head injuries sustained during an assault at a San Francisco Giants home game Friday night, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
Anthony Giraudo, 18, of Redwood City was leaving the ballpark with a group of friends when apparently he got in an altercation with another teen, who punched him. Giraudo's head hit the concrete near where fans board ferryboats; he died later at SF General Hospital. The 18-year-old who is accused of throwing the punch is Taylor Buckley, of San Carlos. He is jailed on a million dollar arrest warrant accused of murder. He may face arraignment this week.
Giraudo pitched for the Canada Community College baseball team.
His parents spent Mother's Day arranging for some of his organs to be removed for transplant. Robt Giraudo says his son was punched from behind, after objecting to something that was said to a female friend.
