2006 Amador County Zinfandel
SHR Blend 80% zinfandel, 13% petite sirah, 7% barbera
Deep, rich, concentrated color. A smoky fullness on the aroma, leads to a big mouthful of wine. Lush, full of fruit. Lots of tannin, but very well balanced. Right now, this wants a rich meat dish. BBQ or steak or pasta with a very rich sauce like rabbit or pork. $29.00
Deaver Vineyard
100-year-old vines
Sparkling, clear light garnet color. Fresh raspberry aromas lead to a clean, spicy palate with a light elegant taste. The 15% plus alcohol is not even apparent on the palate, because of the balance of fruit and acid. A simply elegant, easy to drink wine. $29.00.
