SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- Bay Area politicians rallied the troops Wednesday for Democratic presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
On the steps of San Francisco City Hall, Eastbay Congressman George Miller endorsed Obama, while Mayor Gavin Newsom walked the streets of the Mission district generating support for Hillary Clinton.
Obama's state campaign co-chair Steve Westly said the Democratic contest was going to be a real horse race in California.
Newsom, meanwhile, urged voters to send in their absentee ballots for Clinton now.
California's primary is February 5th.
