OAKLAND, Calif. (KCBS) -- Donations are pouring in for the 10-year-old boy shot and paralyzed from a stray bullet during a botched robbery at an Oakland gas station last Thursday.
Classmates at Crocker Highlands Elementary School are holding bakes sales and planning other fundraisers to help pay for the medical care of 5th grader Christopher Rodriguez. He was shot during his piano lesson at a Rockridge music school and remains in the intensive care unit at Children's Hospital, likely paralyzed from the waist down.
Churches and community groups have been calling Crocker Highlands to offer help to the Rodriguez family, according to principal Chelda Ruff.
If you'd like to join that effort, you can make a deposit to a Wells Fargo account established for the family.
