SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -With California gasoline averaging $3.89, one man is urging people to pray in hopes they will see relief at the gas pump.

"We've tried everything else, and nothing works," exclaimed Rocky Twyman, a choir director who is taking his faith based message to churches around the Bay Area. "We need divine intervention."

The pain is not only being felt in California. Members in from the House of Representatives are urging the Federal Trade Commision to investigate the oil industry for the possibility of collusion against consumers.

"They are having difficulties even getting their children to school," said Oakland Pastor Kendall Guy, speaking on behalf of his congregations concerns.

Consumers personal budget difficulties will continue after the price for a barrel oil hit another record close on Friday when it neared $119 a barrel.
