Green is the new black. Learn how “Going Green” is more than a buzz term, gratifying or good marketing. Adopting green and sustainable practices can make good financial sense for your business. The WaMu Breakfast Series touched down in Silicon Valley and is presented by KCBS All News 740. We’ve selected the innovative San Jose City Hall, the "Greenest" City Hall building in the country, as the site for this year's event.

Breakfast was served in the Rotunda and then moved to City Council Chambers for the program. KCBS Associate News Director and Anchor, Jane McMillan moderated the panel.

The City of San Jose is a leader in offering "green" Initiatives for business. San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed and Chief Development Officer Paul Krutko participated along with corporate and sustainability experts from the Silicon Valley including Lisa Rose, an expert on the Green Certification of Businesses. In her four years of running the Green Business Program, certifications have risen 89%.  And Eiko Risch, Division Manager of Ricoh Electronics who served as the lead in introducing, adapting and practicing Zero Waste concepts for daily business activities for the entire organization.

For those who attended, we sincerely thank you for your interest in the WaMu Breakfast Series and hope to see you again next year.  Please check back soon to KCBS.com & KCBS All News 740 for more information about our next San Jose event.
