FREMONT, Calif. (KCBS) -- The Fremont Police investigation into a stabbing at a wedding reception Saturday night, continues.
”At about 9 p.m. Saturday we received a call of a fight going on at the Niles Banquet Hall at the corner of Niles and Sullivan. When officers arrived they discovered that five people had non-life-threatening stab wounds, and one person had been beaten in the head,” said Fremont Police Lt. Mark Devine.
All six victims were hospitalized.
Devine says the incident began when a group of young men described as "Hispanic males with no shirts and shaved heads," tried to crash the wedding reception, and were rejected at the door. A fight ensued.
The majority of Fremont police officers on duty at the time showed up, and they requested the assistance of Union City police, meaning there were about 25 to 30 officers on scene.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Fremont Police.
