SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- A power outage at part of the state building in San Francisco has some workers twiddling their thumbs today.
PG&E officials tell KCBS they're onsite, trying to determine exactly what the problem is. About half of the building is without power.
Some court employees and state workers say that without computers they weren't able to start the work day. Several attorneys tell KCBS they have been given three-day weekend, as they were turned away on the courthouse steps, with guards telling them all cases have been continued, because of the outage. An answering machine at the California Supreme Court is alerting callers that the court is closed because of the outage.
The state building is at 350 McAllister in the Civic Center area, and PG&E doesn't have an expected time of restoration.
There was an outage in the same area last night, but PG&E doesn't yet know if this outage is a residual of that one.
