BERKELEY, Calif. (KCBS) -- Berkeley police are warning residents to keep their windows and doors locked despite the heat wave because of a recent string of sexual assaults.
The latest attack happened before dawn Tuesday at a home on Milvia Street in North Berkeley, said Sgt. Mary Kusmiss. A woman was assaulted in her home on Derby Street on June 17, she said. Four days later, a home was burglarized. Investigators believe all the cases may be related, Kusmiss said.
The suspect in Tuesday's attack is described as a young black man in his late teens or early 20s, 5-feet-six-inches tall, with a thin build.
A $2,000 reward was offered for information leading to an arrest. Callers can remain anonymous by calling Bay Area Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
