San Quentin Inmates Join Police Anti-Violence Effort

San QuentinEAST PALO ALTO, Calif. -- A group of men serving life prison terms in San Quentin are partnering with the city of East Palo Alto to help prevent violence.

In a video public service announcement, the inmates talk about the bad choices which landed them behind bars.

Police in East Palo Alto have joined forces with “No More Tears”, a group founded by three San Quentin inmates, who want to put an end to violence on city streets.

Denise Banister, No More Tears Executive Assistant, says the group is partnering with the city to give recent parolees counseling, job training and other support services to help them stay out of prison.

The P-S-A's will be aired on public-access cable T-V in East Palo Alto, and are also available online.
