SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KCBS) -- Bay Area train tracks are becoming just as congested as local highways.
The problem is that freight trains are forced to share the same tracks as passenger trains, and both are seeing increased traffic, according to the Mineta Transportation Institute.
More people are riding the rails as they are forced to move out of the Bay Area to find affordable housing, and more freight trains are running because of increased imports from the Pacific Rim.
