Flying in Style from SFO to Dubai

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)  -- The Emirates A380 airbus made a quick stop in San Francisco Monday, offering a preview of the luxurious services that customers can expect while riding on their direct flights from San Francisco International Airport to Dubai.

Some of these small luxuries include individual large TV screen and personal mini-bars. Customers who don’t enjoy sitting for long periods of time can also take a “stretch break” by walking around the lounge near the bar.

The A380 is the world’s largest passenger plane, weighing in at 589 tons and holds the capacity of up to 840 people. Emirates, however, has configured their planes for just 489 passengers, leaving plenty of space for its fancy amenities. An airline pilot described flying the plane like “driving a Ferrari.”

International Airlines who can afford the $300 million planes will use them to cut costs will use them because they use 20 percent less fuel.
