SF Plastic Bag Ban Delayed
|
SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- More businesses beyond just supermarkets could be added to the proposed San Francisco plastic grocery bag ban. Supervisors have delayed taking action on the ordinance as an expansion is explored.
The law would require merchants to offer customers sturdy, reusable cloth or plastic bags, paper bags that can be recycled, or bags that can be composted. Some are critical of the alternative bags, and question whether there is a big enough supply to meet demand.
