SUNNYVALE, Calif. (KCBS) -- Some 200 Bay Area educators met at Yahoo headquarters in Sunnyvale Friday to talk about cyber-bullying.
They heard from Yahoo child safety expert Catherine Titlebalm who said unethical behavior online can be prevented through education. She says kids can also be taught how to protect themselves from cyber-bullying.
Some teachers at the conference did note one curious side effect to cyber-bullying. Apparently, it lessens the incidents of bullying on the playground, said Susan Mitchell with the Los Lomitos Elementary School District in Menlo Park. But other educators observed there has been an alarming rise in the number of school fights being filmed and posted on YouTube.
