SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- A San Francisco cable car collided into a vehicle Wednesday evening, leaving on rider injured and jamming cable car service on the Powell-Hyde line late into the evening.
The crash happened at around 4:55 p.m. on Hyde Street between North Point and Beach Streets, said MUNI spokesman Judson True. The cable car was heading southbound when it collided with a sports utility vehicle that was double parked.
Both the driver and the one of the cable car passengers were taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries. No one was else was injured.
Bus shuttles provided subistitute service on the affected portion of the cable car line.
