FREMONT, Calif. (KCBS) -- Logitech which has its corporate headquarters in Fremont and Mountain View will hand out pink slips to 500 of its employees, representing 15 percent of its workforce.
Most of those laid off will be middle management and above, according to a company spokeswoman.
The economy has weakened consumer demand for its products and the company expects the economy to get worse. Logitech makes computer keyboards, mice, Webcams, speakers and gaming devices.
Logitech was founded in Switzerland and operates its North American sales and marketing from Silicon Valley.
