Kaiser to Cut 275 Local Jobs

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (AP) - More job cuts will be hitting the Bay Area as Kaiser Permanente restructures its information technology operations.

The Oakland-based health maintenance organization says it will eliminate 275 jobs locally as part of a nationwide move to have IBM Corp. manage some of its data centers.

Most of the local jobs eliminated will be in Walnut Creek and Napa. Some jobs will also be cut in Pleasanton.

The cuts come as Kaiser moves to eliminate 860 jobs nationwide in its information technology division.
