TRACY, Calif. (KCBS) -- More than a hundred people are now involved in the search for an eight-year-old Tracy girl missing since Friday afternoon. Sandra Cantu, who has no history of running away from home, hasn't been seen since Friday afternoon.
KCBS' Tim Ryan reports
Some 40 members of law enforcement have been joined by 100 volunteers, according to Tracy Sgt. Tony Sheneman. "If you have seen someone in your neighborhood that you see on a daily basis and all of sudden they're not around or if someone's changed their appearance a great deal and that seems unusual to you, or someone's out working on their car every day and you don't see them for a couple of days, give us a call," Sheneman said. "Let us know about that."
The FBI established checkpoints near where the girl disappeared at the Orchard Estates Mobile Home Park. Sheneman said investigators developed information from various sources. "We talked to a lot of people at the checkpoints. They're asking several questions of everyone who drives in and out."
A reward is being offered.
Sandra is 4 feet tall, weighs about 45 pounds, has brown hair and eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink "Hello Kitty" T-shirt and black leggings. An Amber Alert has not been issued because police have no evidence that she was abducted.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Tracy Police Department or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
