Skinny Dipper Rescued from SF Bay

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS)  -- A ferry crew near the Tiburon Peninsula rescued a naked swimmer Monday morning.

The 6:35 am Larkspur Ferry was about halfway through its route to San Francisco when passengers and crew spotted the woman, who was nude and treading water.

Golden Gate Transit District spokeswoman, Mary Currie, said the woman appeared to be in distress as she waved her arms for help in the channel off of Paradise Cay.

Currie says the woman was pulled out of the water and taken by ambulance to the hospital after the ferry docked in San Francisco around 7:30 am.

“In the course of our day if we see someone in distress we will pursue a rescue,” said Currie. “And if we’re not the right ones for the job we’ll get the coast guard involved. But we were able to successfully execute this rescue.”
