MENLO PARK, Calif. (KCBS) -- Parents and teachers are fighting to save an award-winning elementary school in Menlo Park.
The Ravenswood School District is planning to downsize James Flood Elementary to save $200,000. Teachers found out about the plan this week.
"We haven't had a say in this at all," said First Grade Teacher Stacie Davidson. "There's been no input from our school."
KCBS' Matt Bigler Reports
The district wants to relocate the 320-student, K-8 school to seven portable classrooms at a much smaller location in East Palo Alto. Principal Cammie Harris is worried the move will destroy much of the progress they've made with their predominantly low-income students.
The school board is expected to vote on the relocation Thursday.
