FREMONT, Calif. (KCBS) -- Police arrested two men overnight in connection with a series of highway shootings in the Fremont-Sunol area, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Shawn Wagner of Mariposa and Rojelio Gomez of Fremont, both 21, are being charged with assault with a deadly weapon, illegally firing an air gun and vandalism.

In recent weeks, more than 40 vehicles driving on Interstates 680 and 880 have been hit by pellet guns, causing sometimes severe damage. No one was seriously injured, although one driver suffered minor injuries from broken glass.
The two men were taken into custody around 9:30 p.m. Thursday and are being held on $1 million bail.
